Community Standards
Community Standards
Yamunaa is a worldwide community of shoppers, local stores and independent makers. These standards apply to every product listing, brand page, story, post, offer, review, photo and message. They exist so people can buy with confidence, sellers can compete fairly, and nobody is harmed, cheated or harassed. If something is not allowed here, it is not allowed anywhere on Yamunaa, in any language, in any format.

What we stand for
Every rule in the Policy Centre comes back to four commitments.
- Safety: people and their families come to no harm from what is sold or said here.
- Authenticity: people, brands, products and reviews are what they claim to be.
- Fairness: prices, fees, rankings and reviews are honest and the same rules apply to every seller, large or small.
- Respect: everyone is treated with dignity, whatever their religion, caste, gender, region, language, disability or background.
Who these standards apply to
Shoppers, sellers, brand owners, staff accounts that sellers add, delivery partners using the Yamunaa app, and anyone who creates content on the platform. Sellers are also responsible for what their staff, agents and agencies do on their behalf.
What's not allowed anywhere on Yamunaa
- Selling or promoting prohibited items, counterfeits or products that break the law where they are sold or delivered.
- Scams, phishing, fake refunds, chargeback abuse or any attempt to deceive for money.
- Taking payments or orders outside Yamunaa for a listing or conversation that started here.
- Fake, paid, incentivised or swapped reviews and ratings.
- Harassment, bullying, threats, hate speech and slurs.
- Any content that sexualises, endangers or exploits a child.
- Fake accounts, impersonation, and running extra accounts to dodge limits or enforcement.
- Sharing someone else’s personal data, including phone numbers and addresses from orders.
- Non-vegetarian food, or food listings that hide ingredients.
- Spam: repeated identical listings, keyword stuffing, mass unsolicited messages.
Examples
Allowed
- A Jaipur block printer posting a story about how a new dupatta collection was made.
- A shopper leaving a two star review that says the kurta shrank after one wash.
- A store replying to a complaint politely and offering a replacement through Yamunaa.
- A brand running a Diwali offer with the real previous price shown.
Not allowed
- A seller asking a shopper to pay by bank transfer, a payment app or UPI directly to get a “better price”.
- A shopper posting a review about a seller’s religion instead of the product.
- A brand page using another brand’s logo to borrow its reputation.
- A story giving away free products in exchange for five star reviews.
How we look at context
Words and images can mean different things in different places. We consider the language, the region, who posted it and why. News, education, awareness and clearly marked satire can be allowed where the same content posted to harm would not be. Context never excuses child safety violations, credible threats, fraud or the sale of prohibited items.
How we find violations
We use technology and our review team. Automated systems check every new listing, image, story and review before and after it goes live, and flag patterns such as copied product photos, sudden rating spikes or payment details in messages. Trained reviewers who read the languages of the countries we serve look at flagged content and at reports from the community. You can report anything with the Report option on it.
What happens if you break this policy
- Content that breaks these standards is removed and counts as a strike on the account that posted it.
- Repeated strikes move an account up the strike ladder, from a warning to account suspension.
- Severe violations, including counterfeits, child safety, fraud and credible threats, lead to immediate suspension and may be reported to the authorities.
