Selling on Yamunaa
Counterfeits and intellectual property
Every product on Yamunaa must be genuine. Counterfeits cheat shoppers, hurt the makers who created the original, and are illegal under trademark and copyright law in every country we serve. We have zero tolerance for them. We also protect brand owners and artisans: if you own a trademark, a copyright, a design or a Geographical Indication, you can report infringement and we will act quickly.

What's not allowed
- Counterfeits, replicas, “first copy”, “master copy”, “7A quality”, “inspired by” or “dupe” products that copy a brand.
- Using a brand’s name, logo, packaging or trade dress on products it did not make.
- Copying another seller’s or brand’s photos, videos, descriptions or story content.
- Selling unauthorised copies of books, music, films, software, courses or artwork.
- Claiming a GI tag, such as Pochampally Ikat, Darjeeling Tea or Kanchipuram silk, for products not from that region or not made by authorised producers.
- Copying registered designs, including textile prints and jewellery designs.
- Removing, altering or covering serial numbers, batch codes or brand labels.
- Selling genuine products as “official” or with a warranty the brand does not honour for you.
Examples
Allowed
- Reselling genuine branded shoes bought from the brand’s distributor, with invoices ready to show.

- A Kanchipuram silk saree from a weaver registered as an authorised user of the GI.
Not allowed
- “Nike Air Jordan first copy, same as original.”

Proof of authenticity
We can ask any seller for invoices, authorisation letters or supply chain details at any time. You must provide them within 5 working days. Branded products in high risk categories, such as electronics, beauty, footwear and watches, need approval before listing.
For rights owners: reporting infringement
- Use the IP report form linked from Law enforcement and reporting, or email [email protected].
- Tell us what you own, with registration numbers where you have them, and link every listing you want removed.
- We act on complete reports within 48 hours, usually faster.
- Registered brand owners can enrol in Brand Protection to get verified brand pages and faster takedowns.
- Knowingly false reports break this policy and may lead to action on the reporter’s account.
If your listing was removed
If you believe a report was a mistake, you can request a review from Account Status with proof of authenticity or authorisation. You can also contact the rights owner directly. We will restore listings if the rights owner withdraws the report or you show clear proof.
What happens if you break this policy
- Selling counterfeits is a severe violation. The account is suspended immediately, without the strike ladder.
- Payouts are held for up to 180 days and used to refund every affected shopper.
- Other IP infringements, such as copied photos, count as a strike and the content is removed.
- We cooperate with rights owners and law enforcement, including sharing seller details when required by law.
