Buying on Yamunaa
Off-platform payments
If a sale starts on Yamunaa, through a listing, a brand page, a story or a chat, it must be paid for and fulfilled on Yamunaa. Payments made outside Yamunaa are not covered by our refund, delivery or fraud protection, and are the most common way shoppers are cheated. Sellers who move shoppers off the platform break this policy even if the shopper agrees.
What's not allowed
- Asking for or accepting payment by personal bank transfer, payment app, UPI ID, QR code or cash for a Yamunaa listing.
- Sharing phone numbers, WhatsApp links, email addresses, social media handles or website links in listings, stories, chats, packaging inserts or reviews to move a sale elsewhere.
- Offering a lower price, a bonus or a free gift if the shopper buys outside Yamunaa.
- Asking a shopper to cancel and re-order outside Yamunaa.
- Putting leaflets in Yamunaa orders that invite shoppers to buy direct.
What's allowed
- Pay on delivery, where it is offered, collected by the rider or courier and recorded by Yamunaa.
- Paying through Yamunaa checkout with cards, local payment methods such as UPI, wallets and bank transfers, or Yamunaa Money.
- A seller’s printed brand name and logo on packaging, without contact details for direct sales.
- Sharing a Yamunaa brand page link on your own social media to bring people to Yamunaa.
Examples
Allowed
- A seller telling a shopper in chat: “The custom size is available. I have added it as a listing for you.”
- A quick store rider collecting cash for a pay on delivery order and handing over the invoice.
Not allowed
- “Send the money to my payment app number and I will ship it today, save the platform fee.”
- A story with a QR code for direct payment.
- A thank you card with “Order directly on WhatsApp for 10% off”.
Why this matters
When you pay through Yamunaa, your money is held until the order is delivered. If something goes wrong, we refund you. Outside Yamunaa, we cannot see what happened, cannot trace the payment and cannot help. It also keeps fees fair for the sellers who follow the rules.
If anyone asks you to pay outside Yamunaa, do not pay. Report the chat or listing and we will look into it.
What happens if you break this policy
- Contact details and payment links are removed automatically from listings, stories and chats.
- Each attempt to take a payment off-platform counts as a strike.
- Taking payment off-platform and not delivering is fraud and leads to immediate suspension.
- Orders paid outside Yamunaa are not eligible for Yamunaa refunds or delivery protection.
